An Orientation to the Glade Church

5:30 pm – 6:00 pm – Dinner in the fellowship hall as our guest

6:00 pm – 7:30 pm – Next Step Orientation

While on a guided tour of the campus you will meet church staff members, learn our purpose, vision, core beliefs, & strategy, and learn how you can join the church, join a group, or join a ministry.

Who is invited? 

• Guests who are interested in knowing about our church.
• New members who would like to know more about your new church family and what it means to be a member.
• Others who would like to understand the church better.

What will I learn?

1. Who we are as a church family and how we are both alike and different from other churches.
2. Our vision, mission, and purpose.
3. Our strategy for helping persons grow in Christ.
4. Our core values and basic beliefs.
5. The history of our church and how we fit into the larger Christian context.
6. What does it really mean to be a Christian?
7. Meanings of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
8. What it means to be a member of GBC?

What is Membership

& how can I become a "member"?

We at the Glade Church will never pursue you to become a member. In fact, you are welcome to worship here, connect in a group, and serve in a ministry (i.e. Choir, Greeters, Automotive ministry, etc.) without being a member. However, when you choose to become a member, you will also be eligible to vote on church matters and be eligible to lead a group or ministry. Membership implies certain commitments and responsibilities as well. These include but are not limited to the following:

• participating regularly in corporate worship
• connecting with and participating in a small group
• serving God through this church family

If you desire to become a "member" of the Glade Church, we receive members in the following manner:

• By receiving believer's baptism (i.e. immersion) by which you are saying that you have received Christ.
• By "statement" that you have already received Christ and have received believers baptism.
• By simple transfer of membership from another Baptist fellowship.

Note: If you are a believer and you are coming from a church that does not practice baptism by immersion, you may join our church by simply being baptized here.
