Family Plus
You will hear the term "Family Plus" thrown around a lot at our church from our New Generations Team; we want you to know it's not just a cute name we came up with to make it sound like we care about families (although we really, really do!). Family Plus is derived from our approach to Family Ministry here at the Glade.
The CHURCH
We believe the Church exists to show people WHO God is! The reason we want your kids to Come/Worship, Connect/Grow, and Go/Serve is not because we want them to come TO church - we want them to be learning to BE the church! We believe that the LIGHT of the CHURCH is critical for children and students.
The FAMILY
We also believe the family is where God intends for faith and life to intersect - right in the middle of your household. In fact, in Deuteronomy 6 Moses lays it out like this, "Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." We believe that the LOVE of the FAMILY is critical for children and students.
WORKING TOGETHER
The influence of the church AND the influence of the family are vital in the spiritual development and transformation of children and students. We believe that either of these messages (on its own) has signifcantly less impact and less vitality in the lives of children and students. And we know that these messages have the greatest impact and influence when they are UNIFIED!
That is what we are striving for with Family Plus - one unified message from the family AND the Church for the sake of seeing your children transformed through the power of Jesus Christ.
We want to combine our influences to fuel faith in the next generation.
