Connect/Grow
At The Glade Church we believe God has called us as a church to glorify God through the spiritual transformation of individuals, families, our communities, and our world through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We believe we participate in God's work through a clear process that provides opportunities and encourages persons to Come/Worship, Connect/Grow, Serve/Go.
The second part of the process (Connect/Grow) encourages you to become involved in connect groups. Currently, over 100 groups meet every week either on the church campus or in homes, restaurants, and places of businesses.
The reason connect groups are so important is that these groups help you to connect with other believers, to grow in your faith, and to develop the special gifts and abilities God has given you.
In these connect groups strangers become friends and friends enjoy life together.
If you are not in a connect group, you will find it hard to get to know anybody at the Glade Church. You can't experience fellowship with hundreds of people at a time, but you can develop strong connections in a group made up of ten to fifteen persons.
Connect groups at GBC fall into different categories.
We have connect groups similar to a traditional Sunday School. These groups generally meet on Sunday mornings at the Glade Church and can be your "home-base" where you may study, discuss, and share weekly.
Other connect groups gather for a few weeks or a few months to explore a topic of interest, deal with an issue or concern, do something together that they love, tackle a task they want to see done, or develop a skill or ability in which they have an interest. These occasionally meet on Sunday mornings, but many meet on week-nights, or week-days. Over 1,400 persons are meeting in connect groups every week.
